High Efficiency Clothes Washer Credit Application

The District continues to offer a credit of up to $100 to District customers who purchase and install a High-Efficiency Clothes Washer.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HIGH-EFFICIENCY CLOTHES WASHER CREDIT:

- To qualify, washing machines must be new and Energy-Star Compliant.

- A separate application is required for each clothes washer being installed.

- You must request, complete, and return the high-efficiency clothes washer credit application to the District, with attached original receipt, within 60 days of the date on the application.

- For the lifetime of your account, your combined credits for toilets and High-Efficiency Clothes Washers cannot exceed $400.

Credit Application Rules & Requirements

1. Credit application must be submitted for approval after installation. Installation must be complete within 60 days of item(s) 
purchase. An original, dated sales receipt showing itemized cost for the credited item(s) must be provided.

2. To qualify, washing machines must be new and Energy-Star compliant. An original, dated sales receipt showing cost of the credited 
item must be provided. If you need the original receipts(s) returned, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your credit
application for approval. For online purchases, a print out of the final invoice and an original packing or delivery slip is required.

3. A separate application for approval is required for each clothes washer being installed.

4. This credit may require a post-site inspection by San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLVWD) staff. 

5. For the lifetime of your account, your combined credits for toilets and high-efficiency clothes washers cannot exceed $600.

6. No credit will exceed the purchase price of the item(s) or materials(s). Sales tax and labor are not credited.

7. The credited equipment must be installed in an existing SLVWD service address. 

8. Credits are applied as a credit that will appear on a subsequent water bill. The account must be in good standing to receive a credit. 
Upon closing an account, any credit balance will be mailed to the account holder. Allow four weeks from the date of approval for 
credit processing.

9. You will be issued a check in lieu of a credit if: (1) your SLVWD water service is in the name of your Home Owner’s Association 
or Condominium Board and you are the legal property owner of your dwelling unit.

10. Installation of any credited device, appliance or fixture is the sole responsibility of the applicant, as is determination of the 
adequacy and compatibility of the existing plumbing system.

11. SLVWD does not endorse specific brands, products or dealers; nor does it guarantee materials or workmanship; acceptance of such 
is customer’s responsibility.

12. SLVWD assumes no responsibility or liability for any damage that may occur to an applicant’s property as a result of participation 
in the program. Due to circumstances beyond its control, SLVWD cannot guarantee that installation of credited fixtures or measures 
will result in lower utility costs.

13. The applicant is solely responsible for the proper disposal of all materials associated with the installation of credited fixtures and 
equipment and SLVWD assumes no responsibility or liability. Please recycle materials.

14. SLVWD may at any time, modify, suspend, or terminate this program without prior written notice.

15. Incomplete or illegible application for approval will be denied.
