Santa Cruz County Grand Jury issues report on Drought Resilience

The 2021–2022 Santa Cruz County Civil Grand Jury issued a report on May 24 entitled Our Water Account Is Overdrawn—Beyond Conservation: Achieving Drought Resilience. The report pertains to all Santa Cruz County water agencies including SLVWD. The Grand Jury has requested that various boards and individuals respond to the report's findings and recommendations by August 22, 2022. The SLVWD Board will discuss the Grand Jury Report at the next regular meeting of the Board on June 2, with a view to deciding on a process to review and respond to the report by the deadline. interested members of the public are encouraged to attend this and future meetings and comment on the report.
