The San Lorenzo Valley and Scotts Valley Chambers of Commerce are co-sponsoring a Community Networking Water Mixer with the Scotts Valley Water District and San Lorenzo Valley Water District next Thursday, May 26 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the historic Trout Farm Inn in Felton. Also joining us will be Rosemary Menard, Water Director at City of Santa Cruz

Make new connections with the 2 north county chambers and water districts. Meet business leaders and government officials while networking and discussing our 2 valleys' water supplies. 
Topics of interest to be explored include:

  • environmental impacts of the drought
  • future of water storage
  • economics
  • watershed health
  • water security

Recent Rainfall Affects San Lorenzo Valley Water District's Groundwater & Surface Water


The heavy rainfall in the San Lorenzo Valley in recent weeks was a welcome experience, but it will take time to see how it will impact the groundwater resources and surface flows that the San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLVWD) relies on to provide water to customers throughout the year. It did not end the drought.

San Lorenzo Valley Water District provides reliable, safe drinking water
The San Lorenzo Valley Water District (SLVWD) staff works hard to ensure customers have access to drinking water that meets or exceeds all State and Federal drinking water standards. The process to do so involves sampling and testing water, protecting the watershed and maintaining the distribution system.

The past year, especially the last six months, have been busy at the San Lorenzo Valley Water District. What follows is a quick re-cap of recent and ongoing activities.

It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our longtime employee Rob Menzies on April 7, 2016. Rob first started with the District in 1982. He dedicated his life to serving the community of the San Lorenzo Valley. He was friend to many and his presence will be missed.
